Privacy Policy
Riffsift ("the app") is an independent iOS app published by DRM Ventures LLC ("we", "us") that provides statistics and insights about your Apple Music listening. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.
Summary
- We do not run servers that store your personal data.
- Your listening statistics are computed on your device from your Apple Music library and listening history.
- Your data syncs through your private iCloud (CloudKit) database — only you can access it; we cannot read it.
- Sign in with Apple is used only to identify your account on your own devices. You can hide your email address from us entirely.
- We do not sell your data, and there is no third-party analytics or tracking SDK in the app.
Information the app uses
Apple Music data. With your permission (Apple's Media & Apple Music prompt), Riffsift reads your Apple Music library, play history, and playback data through Apple's MusicKit framework to build your statistics and insights. This processing happens on your device. Your listening data is never transmitted to servers we operate.
Sign in with Apple. Riffsift uses Sign in with Apple to associate your stats with your account across your devices. Apple lets you share or hide your email address; either way, we do not store it on our own servers.
iCloud (CloudKit). Your computed statistics, preferences, and app data are stored in your private iCloud database, managed by Apple and protected by your Apple Account. This data is accessible only to you — not to us — and is removed if you delete the app's iCloud data or your iCloud account.
Catalog lookups. To enrich your stats (artwork, song and artist metadata), the app queries Apple's public catalog APIs over HTTPS. These requests do not include your identity.
